The Chickahominy Area Triad is part of a national, state, and local program that reduces crime against seniors. The organization's mission is to help the senior population and the community, in general, stay one step ahead of scammers and their fraudulent activities through a continuous education and awareness program.
In 2016, the Chickahominy Area Triad resulted from a partnership between the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), Charles City County Sheriff and New Kent County Sheriff Offices, other Charles City and New Kent governmental departments, human service agencies, civic groups, and community seniors. Members of this partnership agreed to work collectively to establish and implement a crime prevention program that would continually educate and provide seniors with the tools and services needed to prevent them from becoming the victims of crimes and to improve their quality of life. The Chickahominy Area Triad is an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) determined 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization and Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) tax-exempt entity.
The community, not just seniors, is invited to join, participate, and become part of the Chickahominy Area Triad. Our organization meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every bi-monthly at 2:00 p.m., with the meeting location alternating between New Kent County and Charles City County.
